Please note that ANC is a referral agent and not the employer. As a Nanny or Caregiver you will be a household employee and the client hiring you will be your employer. Legally, the Nanny/Caregiver’s salary is taxable and social security and unemployment insurance should be paid to the government. Household employers are responsible for the provision of unemployment insurance and worker’s compensation for their employees. The employer and employee are solely responsible for all state and federal taxes. We have a long standing relationship with a payroll service which is available through referral to our clients. Visit the tax resource center for more information.
Back to TopThe primary responsibility of the Nanny is the very critical task of the delivery of quality childcare and secondarily, light housekeeping, household management and family errands. Most nannies are engaged in activities that promote the development and well being of the child. Parents will clarify all of the expectations around this and other responsibilities with a detailed work agreement that the Nanny can review and sign if in agreement. All Nanny schedules will be, mutually agreed upon, and included in this agreement. This contract in specifying conditions of employment should be completed prior to commencement of employment.
Back to TopLight housework as defined by ANC consists of straightening up of family areas and children’s rooms, children’s laundry, and assistance with meal preparation and clean up, bed-making for children and agreed upon family errands. Any additional responsibilities must be specifically agreed upon between the family and the Nanny.
Back to TopOur caregivers offer non medical companionship and assistance in homes, assisted living facilities and nursing homes. Duties vary depending upon the needs and status of the individual client. A typical job description might include meal planning, shopping and cooking, transportation to activities, evens and appointments, errand running and household management, medical reminders, light housekeeping, assistance with bath and grooming, respite post-surgical care and nutritional dietary support.
Back to TopThe agency will maintain a supportive role from the start to the end of a placement. We see our role as facilitative for the Nanny and family relationship. We are available for coaching, problem solving, help with communication issues, networking and play groups with other nannies, and support. We love what we do and enjoy the many relationships we have made and maintained through the years.
